CAITRIONA LEAVEY
Caitriona has been a practitioner of yoga for over 20 years. Following her first ever yoga class Caitriona felt the benefits of yoga on a deep level and she knew that there was something special about this practice. This led her to her first yoga training with Yoga Therapy Ireland in 2004 and this wonderful learning journey has continued ever since. In 2006 Caitriona left her corporate career in marketing and took on teaching yoga full time. Now with a busy home life and two daughters, yoga teaching has complemented raising her young family along the way.
Caitriona is a qualified yoga therapist and Somatic Movement Coach and has completed training in yoga for pregnancy, yoga for cancer care, amputee yoga, yoga nidra, chair yoga and more. Her continued education and commitment to best practice led her to be invited as part of the faculty of Yoga Therapy Ireland’s Pregnancy Teacher Training Course over the past 5 years. More recent trainings have included advanced modules with the school of Embodied Flow and Lisa Petersen’s Living Yoga plus immersions with Amy Mathews and Donna Farhi.
Believing that yoga is for everyone and is about a deeper connection to self, her somatic style to teaching offers the student a more felt sense and embodied experience of their practice. This approach creates an environment for rediscovery of our innate wholeness. Caitriona runs Clondalkin Yoga, where she lives and has built a strong tightknit community through her consistent weekly classes over 15 years. Other interests include meditation and all things involving sound therapy. In 2020 Caitriona became a certified Masters of Wisdom and Meditation teacher with davidji and completed a two year diploma in Sound Healing. In addition to yoga classes and workshops, she now enjoys offering meditation classes and sound-bath evenings online to her growing community.
