FLOW AND RESTORATIVE
When: Wednesdays, 8.15-9.15pm
Looking for a balance of a flow which offers time to open and work deep into the body through yin and restorative poses? This class offers an ideal combination of a gentle vinyasa flow cobmined with a yin and restorative yoga class.
The first part of the class includes a variety of gentle yoga sequences designed to improve flexibility, muscle tone and strength.
The second part of the class is yin and restorative. Restorative and yin poses are held for longer with the use of props and supports to help open the body. Restorative and yin yoga is an excellent way to gently open and stretch the body in a in a nurturing, therapeutic, supported and restorative way.
Restorative and yin yoga elicits the relaxation response in the body and encourages the parasympathetic nervous system to be stimulated which helps to counter effects of the 'fight or flight' response (the stress response) in the body.
